ComNetworkSF Bay Area: Words Matter: The Art and Style of Conscious Language
Contrary to popular belief, there’s no such thing as objectively “neutral” language, and striving for "correctness" won't set us all free. Intrigued? Join conscious language consultant Alex Kapitan, founder of The Radical Copyeditor, for a lunchtime workshop and conversation about how to mindfully use language to communicate across lines of difference. Come gain tools and top tips for crafting your words with care and equity, whether via organizational style guides; in publications, websites, and media; or in conversations with colleagues, partners, funders, and constituents.
We welcome you to join us in person, but this session will also be available online for individuals not in the area or those who prefer Zoom.
