Sarah Rand

Sarah Rand is the Director of Public Affairs for the University of Chicago Crime Lab and Education Lab. Sarah received a MA in Learning Sciences from the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University and a BA in Biology from Carleton College. Most recently, Sarah was the Marketing and Communications Manager for the Social and Economic Policy division at Abt Associates and was a Senior Communications Specialist at the American Institutes for Research. She has led communications for a variety of topics including education, housing and asset building, early childhood, and child and family well-being. In her role, she supports the Crime Lab and Education Lab mission to reduce gun violence and advance learning and opportunity. She engages with the public sector through a variety of strategies including videos, events, media outreach, presentations, and data visualization.
